Development of new electronic systems for Mercedes Cars like ESP (Electronic Stability Program).

We use Linux as a stable platform for all kind of software development and office work.

Our main work is to create new controller software with Matlab/Simulink (under Linux).



Mercedes-Benz AG uses Linux for the following functions:

• X-Windows:
  • X-Windows server (runs applications, possibly exports display)
• Network file server:
  • NFS server for other PCs and Unix systems.
• Print server:
  • Print spooler using lpd (Unix, NFS clients)
• Office productivity software:
  • Document preparation with TeX, LaTeX and derivatives.
  • Spreadsheets created with Wingz.
  • Other document management.
• Network services provided to local users:
  • HTTP (World-Wide Web) server or cache.
  • Accepts telnet connections.
  • Services finger requests.
• Software development tools:
  • C and/or C++
  • Perl
  • Bourne, Korn, C or another shell; using sed, awk, grep and similar tools.
  • Others.
